Regenerative Treatment
What Is PRP & PRF Therapy?
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) and Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) are regenerative treatments that use your body's own blood components to stimulate healing, collagen production and tissue renewal. A small blood sample is taken, processed to concentrate the growth factors, and then administered into the treatment area.
PRP and PRF are used to improve skin quality, reduce fine lines, support hair restoration, treat acne scarring and enhance the results of other aesthetic treatments such as microneedling. Because the treatment uses your own biological material, it is a natural and well-tolerated option.
Available at Angelic Cosmetic Clinic, Kogarah NSW.
What PRP & PRF Therapy Can Address
PRP vs PRF — What's the Difference?
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)
PRP is produced by spinning a blood sample in a centrifuge to separate the platelets and growth factors from the red blood cells. The concentrated platelet layer is then administered or applied topically during treatments like microneedling. PRP delivers a high concentration of growth factors to support skin repair and collagen production.
Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF)
PRF is a next-generation version of PRP that uses a slower centrifuge speed, producing a fibrin matrix that releases growth factors more gradually over time. PRF may offer a more sustained healing response and is well-suited for under-eye treatments, facial rejuvenation and areas requiring prolonged tissue repair.
Your Treatment
What to Expect
Consultation & Assessment
A thorough assessment of your skin concerns, medical history and treatment goals. Your practitioner will determine whether PRP, PRF or a combination approach is most appropriate for your needs.
Blood Draw & Preparation
A small blood sample is taken from your arm — similar to a routine blood test. The sample is then processed in a medical-grade centrifuge to isolate the platelet-rich components.
Treatment Application
The PRP or PRF is either delivered directly into the treatment area or applied topically during a microneedling session. Topical anaesthetic is applied beforehand for comfort. Treatment takes approximately 30–60 minutes.
Recovery & Results
Mild redness and swelling may occur for 24–48 hours. Results develop gradually as collagen production increases over 4–8 weeks. A course of 3 sessions is typically recommended for optimal results.
How Long Do Results Last?
Onset
Initial glow within 1–2 weeks. Full collagen stimulation visible at 4–8 weeks post-treatment.
Duration
Results typically last 6–12 months depending on the treatment area, skin condition and individual response.
Maintenance
Periodic maintenance sessions every 6–12 months are recommended to sustain optimal results.
Enhanced Results
PRP/PRF combined with microneedling may produce enhanced collagen stimulation compared to either treatment alone.
Individual results may vary. Outcomes are influenced by individual biology, skin condition and lifestyle factors.
Am I Suitable?
Is PRP/PRF Therapy Right for Me?
PRP and PRF treatments are suitable for most adults seeking natural skin rejuvenation. Because the treatment uses your own blood, allergic reactions are extremely rare. However, PRP/PRF may not be suitable for individuals with certain blood disorders, active skin infections, those on blood-thinning medication, or during pregnancy.
A comprehensive medical consultation is required to determine your suitability for treatment.
