What Is a Thread Lift?
A thread lift is a minimally invasive, non-surgical treatment that uses fine, absorbable sutures (threads) inserted beneath the skin to physically lift and reposition facial tissues. The threads stimulate the body's natural healing response, encouraging collagen production in the treated area for improved skin quality and longevity of results.
At Angelic Cosmetic Clinic, Kogarah NSW, thread lifts are offered where clinically appropriate following a thorough assessment. Not every client is a suitable candidate — our practitioners will provide an honest assessment of whether this treatment aligns with your anatomy and goals.
PDO (polydioxanone) and PLLA (poly-L-lactic acid) threads are used depending on the treatment area and desired outcome. Both types are fully absorbable and do not require removal.

Thread lifts are best suited to clients with mild to moderate facial laxity who want to avoid surgical intervention. They are not a substitute for a surgical face lift in cases of significant skin excess. Your practitioner will assess your suitability honestly at consultation.
Results typically last 12–24 months depending on thread type, treatment area and individual factors. The collagen stimulation effect may provide some ongoing benefit beyond the thread absorption period.
Most clients experience swelling and bruising for 1–2 weeks. Restrictions on facial expressions and sleeping positions are advised in the initial recovery period. Detailed aftercare instructions are provided.
Thread lifts are commonly combined with wrinkle treatments and volume replacement as part of a comprehensive non-surgical treatment plan. Your practitioner will advise on appropriate combinations and sequencing.
